This page outlines important information and expectations for parents and guardians of players participating in Park City Youth Lacrosse (PCYLO). Clear expectations and consistent communication help create a positive, well-organized experience for players, families, coaches, and officials.
Our program is built around three core values:
Work Hard. Have Fun. Respect the Game.
Communication & Staying Informed
Clear and consistent communication is essential to a successful season.
Organizational emails are the primary communication method for high-level information, including:
Season updates and announcements
League-wide reminders and deadlines
Weather-related notices when applicable
To ensure you receive these messages, please keep your contact information up to date and check that PCYLO emails are not filtered into spam or junk folders.
Otto Sport is the our official platform for:
Registration
Practice and game schedules
Team and coach communication
Schedule adjustments do occur due to weather, field availability, and other factors. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, parents should regularly check Otto Sport.
Mobile apps are available for Otto Sport and are strongly encouraged. The app allows families to:
View real-time schedule updates
Receive notifications
Communicate with coaches
Stay connected throughout the season
Using organizational emails and Otto Sport together helps ensure families stay informed and aligned all season long.
Parent Responsibilities
Parents and guardians play an important role in supporting a positive team environment. We ask families to:
Ensure players arrive on time and prepared for practices and games
Keep registration, contact, and medical information current
Monitor organizational emails and Otto Sport updates regularly
Support league policies, procedures, and decisions
Communicate respectfully with coaches and league representatives
Sideline Behavior & Sportsmanship
Parents are expected to model the same sportsmanship and respect we ask of our players.
Positive encouragement only from the sidelines
No coaching from the sidelines during games or practices
Respect officials, coaches, teammates, opponents, and spectators
Allow coaches to coach and players to play
Unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated
Maintaining a positive sideline environment helps players stay focused, confident, and engaged.
Playing Time & Development Expectations
Park City Youth Lacrosse is a recreational, development-focused program.
Skill development and learning take priority over game outcomes
Coaches strive to provide meaningful participation for all players
Playing time may vary by age group, attendance, and game situations
As players progress, they may be introduced to multiple positions
Our goal is long-term player development and enjoyment of the game.
Weather, Cancellations & Schedule Changes
Lacrosse is an outdoor sport, and schedules may be impacted by:
Weather conditions
Field availability
Safety considerations
Schedule changes may occur with limited notice. Otto Sport is the official and most reliable source for updates related to practices and games. Parents are encouraged to check schedules regularly, especially during periods of changing weather.
Communication with Coaches
Open and respectful communication between parents and coaches is encouraged.
Coaches will share team-specific information through Otto Sport
Non-urgent concerns should not be addressed during games or practices
Parents are encouraged to wait at least 24 hours after a game before raising concerns
Conversations should focus on player development, effort, and well-being
This approach supports productive dialogue and a positive team culture.
Safety & Player Well-Being
Player safety is a shared priority across the league.
Proper protective equipment is required for all players
Coaches emphasize safe techniques and age-appropriate play
Players are expected to follow rules and safety guidelines
Parents should communicate any injuries or medical concerns promptly
Creating a safe environment allows players to learn and compete with confidence.
Code of Conduct
All parents, players, and coaches are expected to adhere to PCYLO’s standards of behavior.
The PCYLO Code of Conduct applies to all league activities
Expectations include respect, sportsmanship, and positive behavior
Violations may result in disciplinary action
Adhering to these standards helps ensure a positive experience for everyone involved.

Supporting Your Player & the Program
Parents can best support their child’s lacrosse experience by:
Encouraging effort, improvement, and enjoyment
Reinforcing respect for teammates, coaches, officials, and opponents
Keeping competition in perspective
Supporting the broader lacrosse community when possible
Your involvement and support play a key role in creating a strong, welcoming program.
